I try and write here at least once a week, so I apologise for my absence. The past few weeks have been extremely busy. Last weekend, 27th April, was the launch for Selling Mars. And boy, did we have fun! The venue was part of Leicester's old gasworks, all sloping wooden floors and high, vaulted ceilings. Two bands were kind enough to cross the borders from Birmingham to Leicestershire and play for us.
The first, the amazing Crimson Clocks, played us a gorgeous set, ranging from their own pieces, to the introduction to Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds (which is one of my favourite albums!). They don't fit in to any particular genre of music, so I'm not even going to try! Just go and listen, and you'll see for yourselves!
Next up were the incredible Birthrite who really did bring the house down. Lots of laughing, lots of great songs, and one extremely tough crowd (We'd prefer to sit there and nod along in Leicester. We're not big dancers!), they did get us all up dancing. Absolutely brilliant performances from both bands!
I did, at much insistence, do a reading.
And then got down to the most important part of the evening. Chilling out!
You can see more of the night's photos here. Thank you so much to everyone who came! It was great to see you! And if we didn't see you that night, hopefully we'll see you at another soon. :)

Partying Like It's 1899 Part 2!
The launch for "Selling Mars" has all been arranged! Fingers crossed it'll go nice and smoothly. You can find the tickets for it in the side bar of this blog. Be warned though, that there are only 85 tickets and when they're gone, they're gone! The venue's a nice little one, very cozy and perfect for the event. We're having performances by Birthrite and Crimson Clocks and everyone who attends will receive a little bag of goodies. We're also planning other things and we'll reveal them as the date draws closer.
It would be great to see you there! Everyone's welcome and, while it's not compulsory, turning up in Steampunk dress would be amazing! Really hope to see you there.

Welcome!
Soooo... Welcome to the new blog! Let's see who good I am at keeping this one updated! I have to admit that, right at this present moment, I'm quite a fan of micro-blogging. I enjoy seeing if I can get my thoughts into 140 characters or squeezing my feelings into the mad, rampaging insanity that it is Facebook. It's a challenge. And I enjoy those.
For those who don't know what I'm about, or even why I'm here, let me explain.
I'm an author. Well, soon to be author. "Yeah, yeah," I hear you all yell. "You and a billion other people." Okay, so I admit to being a small fish in a very big pond. But, to anyone who knows me, I like making big splashes. Quite literally in some cases! ;)
The first book in the series, "Mars On The Rise", will be released in January 2012 by Torquere Press ( www.torquerebooks.com ). If you've never heard of them, go and check them out. It'll also give you a bit of an idea what my books are about. And if you read them and don't like them, please don't tell me! I enjoy living in my own little bubble of Victoriana.
We're having a book launch in May 2012 with a lot of fun and surprises planned. If you'd like to get involved, feel free to leave a comment here, or check out the note on Facebook. We'd (as in the Royal we) would love to see you there. It's going to be a great night!
Veetu Industries refers to the company which is referenced throughout the books. You'll easily get the hang of it. Stick around here and it'll all become blatantly obvious. :) Hopefully. If I can remember to keep this up!
Anyway, I'll close this for now. Take care and thank you for reading!
